Our Amplify Program is a targeted career accelerator that enables undergraduate students to develop critical technical and professional skills and the knowledge to confidently transition into an engineering career.
Impact amplified
Our Amplify Program for undergraduate students will launch in July 2025 with two program offerings:
- Our Amplify Connect Program, for first to final year undergraduate students, provides career development opportunities, work experience, and professional development activities designed to enhance your knowledge of the energy sector. This program empowers you to take charge of your own development and career direction. Amplify Connectors will be eligible to apply for the Amplify Scholar Program.
- Our Amplify Scholar Program, for students in their final two years of an energy industry related engineering degree, is a focused, two-year talent development program for early career engineers passionate about pursuing a future career with us. Positions in this program will be offered to Amplify Connectors who have been matched to critical roles needed in locations and divisions across Queensland. Amplify Scholars will be provided financial support, paid internships, thesis support and extensive professional development, while completing their degree. Amplify Scholars are encouraged to apply for our Graduate Program.
Careers realised
Students in their final year of study, or with a maximum of 2 years working within the engineering industry, are encouraged to apply for our Graduate Program.
During your three-year participation in our Graduate Program, you'll have the opportunity to start your career and be part of the innovation and transformation shaping the energy market of the future.
You'll complete six-month rotational placements in a range of specialisations and areas of the business to broaden your skills and knowledge of the electricity industry.
You'll develop future focused technical, business and leadership skills and complete challenging work assignments under expert supervision of senior leaders and technical experts.
You'll work towards becoming a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and you'll secure a permanent role at the end of the program.
Amplify Connectors and Amplify Scholars are encouraged to apply for our Graduate Program on completion of their studies.

Frequently asked questions
Who is eligible to apply for the Amplify Program?
Within the Amplify Program we have two program offerings, Amplify Connect and Amplify Scholar. Each one has its own eligibility requirements. Broadly we are looking for degree disciplines that can lead to a career in the energy sector e.g. engineering or IT/data analytics.
I am not my final year or penultimate year, does this mean I am not eligible to apply for the Amplify Program?
You are eligible to apply for the Amplify Connect Program, which offers career development opportunities, work experience, and activities designed to enhance your knowledge of the energy sector. As an Amplify Connector you’ll be eligible to apply for the Amplify Scholar Program in your penultimate year.
If I am successful in becoming an Amplify Connector, will I automatically be eligible for the Amplify Scholar Program?
No, you will need to apply for the Scholar program which would commence when you enter your final two years of study.
If I am successful in becoming an Amplify Connector or an Amplify Scholar, will I need to re-apply each semester?
To maintain eligibility you will need to actively participate in the program offerings, and you’ll be required to re-register annually.
Inactive participants will be required to re-apply.
If I don’t get an offer to join the Amplify Program, can I apply again in the future?
Yes. The Amplify Program is an annual recruitment process.
Will the recruitment for the Amplify Program be open to more than just the current Future of Engineering Scholarship holders?
Yes, it will be an open application process.
Will I receive financial support?
Amplify Scholars will receive financial support. Amplify Connectors receive non-financial benefits.
Do I need to be located in one of Energy Queensland’s major locations - Brisbane, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns?
Within the Amplify Program we have two program offerings, Amplify Connect and Amplify Scholar. Each one has its own location requirements. Amplify Connectors will participate online, however Amplify Scholars will be required to attend one of our major locations.
