Start your engineering undergraduate journey and learn about the innovation and transformation shaping the energy market of the future.

The Program is open to first to final year engineering students, who will receive career development opportunities, work experience and professional development activities designed to enhance your knowledge of the energy sector. Amplify Connectors will be eligible to apply for the Amplify Scholar Program.

Applications will be open 6 - 27 May 2025 for our first intake. You can pre-register via Prosple from 7 April 2025 to join our email list for when the applications go live.

Through the Amplify Connect Program, we’re opening our doors to emerging talent, giving you the opportunity to explore exciting projects, hear from senior engineers about how we are transforming Queensland’s electricity network, and gain firsthand insight into life at Energy Queensland—helping you determine if we are the right fit and empowering you to make informed decisions about a career in the energy industry.

As an Amplify Connector, you’ll receive exclusive invitations to industry specific activities to learn about us, our subsidiary companies (Energex, Ergon Energy Network and Yurika), and the energy sector.

Our assessment process

We understand how daunting it can be to apply to an organisation in the early years of your studies. Our assessment process is designed to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your strengths, as well as showcase your enthusiasm and passion for a future in the energy industry.

As you work through our recruitment process, you’ll have the opportunity to meet members of our Early Careers Team.

Here’s what to expect after you apply for an Amplify Connector role:

  • You may be asked to complete some cognitive and behavioural assessments
  • You may be invited to complete an online video interview
  • If successful you will receive a formal letter of offer.

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply to the Amplify Connect Program?

The Amplify Program is an annual recruitment process, with applications open in May to commence in mid-year. An application link will be added at the top of this page when applications open.

What discipline do I need to be studying to be eligible to apply for the Amplify Connect Program?

Broadly we are looking for degree disciplines that can lead to a career in the energy sector e.g. engineering or IT/data analytics.

Will I get paid to be part of the Amplify Connect Program?

No, this is a non-financial program focussing on career development and career pathways into the energy sector. Our Amplify Connectors will be invited to apply for the Amplify Scholar Program and the Graduate Program.

When should I apply for the Amplify Connect Program?

New applicants will apply in May for a mid-year commencement. Active existing Amplify Connectors will re-register annually. Inactive Amplify Connectors will be required to reapply to re-enter the Program annually.

How long is the Program?

Our Amplify Connect Program supports undergraduate students from first to final year of study.

Do I need to reapply to the Program every year during my undergraduate studies?

Active existing Amplify Connectors will re-register annually, while in-active Amplify Connectors will be required to reapply to re-enter the Program annually.

Do I need to be in Queensland to be part of the Program?

Yes. The Amplify Connect Program is a pathway for Queensland students to explore career opportunities within the Queensland energy sector.

Do I need to maintain a full-time study load?

Yes, this is preferred however consideration is given to those students on a reduced study load on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need to maintain a particular GPA?

Yes, our Amplify Program requires participants to maintain a GPA 5 or above. Special consideration is applied on a case-by-case basis.

What happens when I finish my degree?

During the final year of your undergraduate studies, you are encouraged to apply for our Graduate Program.

If I am successful in becoming an Amplify Connector will I automatically be eligible for the Amplify Scholar Program?

No, you will need to apply for the Amplify Scholar Program which would commence when you enter your final two years of study. Our Amplify Connectors will be invited to apply for the Amplify Scholar Program and our Graduate Program.

Can I apply to other organisations for work if I’m an Amplify Connector?

Yes, there are no restrictions on pursuing other opportunities while participating in the Amplify Connect Program.

I am an international student, can I apply for the Amplify Connect Program?

No. Currently we’re unable to accommodate international students as our Amplify Program participants must meet residency requirements.
