The application & selection process

Following is a brief guide to the steps involved in the application and selection process for Future of Energy Engineering Scholarships.

  1. 1 Submit your application online

    When applications are open, complete an online application and attach an up-to-date CV, cover letter and your latest academic transcript.

    Applications will only be accepted during the specified scholarship application period. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

    All applications must be made through the Energy Queensland Careers portal.

    To keep updated with the application timeline for 2025, you can register for job alerts.

  2. 2 Online testing

    Candidates that meet the minimum criteria will be contacted and invited to participate in some online testing.

    You will be provided with instructions to complete the following:

    • Cognitive and behavioural assessments to inform us of your workstyles, values and motivations
    • A short one-way video interview.
  3. 3 Attend a panel interview (via video conference if unavailable in person)

    If you make it to the next round of the recruitment process, we'll contact you and ask you to attend a panel interview in person or via video conference. Interview questions will be behavioural-based, and your responses should include relevant examples that demonstrate your ability and/or experience.

    Various interview time slots will be available for you to book an interview.

  4. 4 Scholarship offer

    If you make it this far CONGRATULATIONS, you will be offered a scholarship!

    We will email you instructions on how to accept the scholarship. You will need to sign a Scholarship Agreement, attach your most recent academic transcript and complete some forms so we can make the scholarship payments to you and set you up in our systems for future work with us.
