Our assessment process

We understand how daunting it can be to apply for a new role straight out of university. We continuously review and refine our recruitment and assessment process to ensure we’re providing efficient and effective experiences and outcomes.

As you work through our recruitment process, you’ll have the opportunity to meet members of our Early Careers Team and Senior Engineering Leaders.

Our assessment process is designed to review candidates holistically. We provide an opportunity for you to demonstrate your cognitive and behavioural strengths as well as showcasing your enthusiasm and passion for your role in the energy industry.

Here’s what to expect after you apply for a Graduate role:

  • You may be asked to complete some cognitive and behavioural assessments
  • You may be invited to an interview with a panel of our people
  • We conduct reference checking
  • If successful you will receive a formal letter of offer
  • You may be invited to participate in pre-onboarding activities
  • You’ll attend Graduate orientation week.

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply to the Graduate Program?

We open applications for our Graduate Program annually to commence the following year in February or August. An application link will be added at the top of this page.

How long is the Graduate Program?

Our Graduate Program is three years.

I am currently in year one or two of a degree. Can I apply for the Graduate Program?

You must have graduated or be eligible for graduation prior to commencing with us, so you would not be eligible to apply until your final year of study. However, students can apply for our Undergraduate Programs.

When do I need to have completed my degree?

Your Undergraduate degree must be completed no less than two years before the commencement date of the program in February or August. Integrated Bachelor and Master degree will be accepted, as long as students meet this completion timeframe.

I do not have permanent residency. Can I apply for a Graduate or Intern position?

No. To be eligible for our Graduate Program you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident or have eligible working rights.

Is a Graduate role a permanent job?

Yes. You are appointed as a permanent employee on a nine-day fortnight (subject to successfully passing your probation period).

What is the annual salary for a Graduate?

Remuneration for Graduates is from $128,000 per annum plus 14.75% superannuation, with ongoing opportunities for salary progression.

What training and development is involved with the Graduate Program?

Graduates with undertake business and technical training and are encouraged to be a proactive contributor towards their development and career planning.

During the three-year program you’ll complete six-month rotational placements in a range of specialisations and areas of the business, to broaden your skills set and knowledge of the energy sector.
